Woohoo..I've got the chance to get into a submarine last year!..Although it's not a high tech version..but it's still cool! The submarine monument I mentioned was situated at Surabaya, Indonesia. The model of this Submarine is KRI Pasopati which is a Russian (then Soviet Union) made in the year 1952. This submarine was dissembled and reassembled on land to be a monument as a memoir for the bravery of Indonesian warrior. OK'lah'..let's take a visit into the submarine...
The submarine from the outside..410..anyone for 3D?
The stats of the submarine
from a perspective
NOW INTO THE TORPEDO CHAMBER
the torpedo
to be loaded into this hole
and then FIRE!..that's the firing 'button'?
and next
THE BEDROOM
very small and narrow
That's me getting through into the other chamber
That's the Pantry/Kitchen area..small area
Toilet area
SONAR Section
Communication section
ENGINE CHAMBER
penjalan motor ekonomi = Economy Motor Generator?
Valve and pressure section
and that's one of the many batteries used for movement..it's very huge..but unless you get to see it with your own eyes, you will not be able to comprehend the size through photo
THE SPYING CHAMBER
The 'traditional' analog periscope
and me spying someone...
and US taking a pict with the tourguide..well he's actually one of the few remaining retired marines who's part of the submarine in the 50s..isn't it nostalgic for him?
and that's me again at the rear section of the weapons (Torpedo) chamber..
That's all for now..there will be a post on either China, Japan or South Africa at the end of next week before taking a break for Chinese New Year!
