South Africa-->OVERview

South Africa, the worlds largest producer of diamonds and places of many natures..really lucky to be able to be there and I'm still in Pretoria South Africa at the moment..well just wanna share with you the aerial photos of South Africa..from RDP housing estates to crop circles..you will be able to see gold mines, diamond mines, the plains etc..enjoy the photos below..some of the photos will not be as sharp because of the aircraft windows though..

The Deserts of Somalia

Barely one hour of the flight across the deserts of Oman, I came across another desert, this time it's the Deserts of Somalia. Actually this is the Northern part of Somalia and oh well the conditions are worse than of Oman..nothingness and bloody dry..Take a look at the documentation then. As usual, the photos are shot accordingly..to the journey down..Enjoy the "cool desserts" ..not ....hot deserts

I'm not an expert in Land Geography but I think this is a dried up river as what we can see here...very scary huh...looks like this place was a very fertile land with greeneries around..and imagine when it dried up, it became like this...just like the surface of the Mars

Somehow this looks like a desert mountain range or river range perhaps..
any geography experts here?


And finally I get to see the ocean by the desert..sounds irony huh..'an ocean by the desert'


Could see some 'remains' there by the ocean..dunno what the heck is it though

The Deserts of Oman

I've not stepped onto Oman but I've flew across the airspace of Oman, on the way to Johannesburg from Qatar. And guess what, flights across the deserts are totally turbulence free as there're barely any clouds..therefore I'm able to spectate the vast desert of Oman, which is part of the Arabian desert from the plane, clearly or would i say..too clear and too bright. Well let's take a look then..These are 'recorded' accordingly to the time...

Can't see anything except for black squarish and rectangular shape thingy..Anyone knows what are they?

Now you can see the road...and it's covered with dusts


Blocks of black squares..it looks like a building foundation though


another set of black blocks..i think this is an abandoned 'nomadic residential' area..u can see the roads in between..


As I'm using a polarizer and shooting through the aircraft window, i have to use the photoshop to level it..and this one looks like a satellite image

Moongate Hiking/Photo Trip

Just few days ago, I had a hiking/photo trip through the moongate to 'no.84' and then walked down to the Penang Botanical Garden. This is actually part of the preparation for Gunung Kinabalu Hike. The whole hiking took about 6 hours + stopping for photograph and some snack. I went with Mr. Ang who is also a member of Water Watch Penang as well as nature lover and an avid photographer. He taught me some techniques on using the DSLR. Most of the pics are macro photos. Though my lens are not as good as Mr. Ang's lens, I managed to captured some nice shots of the nature.

Many thanx to Mr. Ang for his guidance as well as supporting some flash for the pics. His eyes are very sharp that he can notice those small insects the size of our little finger. keng leh
