A view of the hills and mountains from the top of Pondok Timpohon
The first slope at the beginning
Warming up...
The first waterfall around
Gearing up now for a more difficult trails
From this signboard, we have just reaced the 500m mark..5.5km more to go..
After nearly 1 km of hike, finally we've reached the first rest station..in this station there's toilet with flush and you can get water supply from a tank..Though it's untreated, you can still drink it because it's the water from the mountain and there's no agricultural activity..so there's no risk of water pollution.
Feeding the squirrels...they're damn fast
We're half way up..the trail changes as we're near the Laban Rata..and it gets steeper
Group picture together
One of the strong porter..most of them or all of them I would are Kadazan-Dusun..these strong people include female and male porter as well as guide..We had 2 guide with us and they carried our stuff for us with a price of RM8 per kilogram..not a bad deal..they claim that they can even carry us up to the peak if we want to..as long as we pay them..
Some breathtaking view as we move up..we're above the clouds and it's like heavenanother view......
Here's some of the beautiful vegetations that have grown while on the way up to Laban rata.
Nice pattern of this leaf
A bee came when i'm shooting this one..but it's too fast for me to get a clear shot of it
Wild cherries could be picked up and be eaten..taste nice too
The rest are flowers and plants..i don't really know their name though..any ideas or help?
So from here it's the end of the 2nd part...it took us between 7-8 hours to reach Laban rata..quite long eh..some was even later..we slept at Laban Rata at 7pm and we woke up at 1am to continue the journey to the peak. Keep tracking for the final part of the series.
