Just got back from my very first 2 weeks trip to Europe and this was the first time I flew with an airline of less than 4 stars apart from Airasia.Yeah, that's Scandinavian Airlines aka SAS. I took this return flight from Narita-Copenhagen through SK984/SK983 and also a one way budget flight from Arlanda, Stockholm-Copenhagen. As SAS is a Star Alliance member Airlines, I was able to accrue mileage points through this flights.
First is about the seats. As this is an economy flight seating, you can see that it is the typical 2-4-2 seating configuration in the Airbus A340 model. The aircraft during the flight to Copenhagen is a little old whereas the flight back to Narita looks better and newer. As usual blankets and pillows were provided to make your 12 hours flight comfortable.
Entertainment System on-board |
The entertainment system is of old system with some new movies but the setback is, the whole economy seating systems are centralized which means you are not able to rewind any movies. All of the screens are touch-screens but the touch screen system during my flight to Copenhagen are a little faulty but that's it's not a problem for me though.

As usual, in every kind of flight, food is one of the most important factor in flight. It could make or break your flight mood especially for long haul flights.. As for SAS, i would like to laud for their excellent and tasty foods provided throughout the flight. Moreover during the flight, sandwiches and free flow of drinks are provided.
Love those foods served. It's one of the tastiest so far compare to other airlines which I have flown with.
Further comments are about the friendly cabin attendant. Their courtesy are genuine and they greeted and chat with us about Sweden and other Scandinavian airlines. I would like to highlight this very friendly lady cabin attendant during the flight to Copenhagen SK984 on the 13th of February 2012. I did not ask for her name but she told us that she is 53 yrs of age and I hope that SAS could forward this credit to her.
Of course any airlines review would not be completed if there are no aerial photos during the flight. During the flight to Copenhagen, we crossed the vast frozen Siberian plains of the Russia.

It's afternoon at the Siberian plains.

For this flight experience, I would like to personally rate SAS airlines for 4 out of 5 in total with special mention on the cabin attendant and great food on board and I hope to fly with SAS again!
