It's been more than a month since my last update. With many backdated post to be updated, I shall start with "4 days 3 nights Safari Trip Special".
On the first day we stopped by Dullstroom Inn which was my very first stay in a boutique hotel. Dullstroom Inn is located at Dullstroom which is one of the coldest towns in Mpumalanga province in South Africa. Tracing back to 1912, the Dullstroom Inn offers this retro kinda’ old nostalgic but relaxing feeling upon arrival. The colonial interior adds to the ambiance and the casual style which is one of the inn's unique features.
The front entrance of the Dullstroom Inn |
One of the cosiest common area I have ever experienced in Dullstroom Inn |
The charming faded elegance of the common area is one of the attractions in this inn |
The cafetaria |
The interior of one of the bedroom with colonial charm and lots of floral decor |
coffee and cookies are provided for your early meal starters before breakfast |
The fireplace at the restaurant and pub of Dullstroom Inn has been burning continuously for the past 30 years |
The restaurant is also filled with antiques and trout fishing memorabilia |
an antique piano which is not used anymore |
The inn is also the first ever place where the "Finders Keepers" prize of one million rand was hidden (inside the clock on the left)
Location: 2 hours from Gauteng province, a perfect and popular stopover by many before continuing their trip to the Kruger National Park.
Restaurant and Bar: Great ambience for dining with good food
Amenities: Colonial era interiors are great but can still be upgraded with some necessary amenities such as Wi-Fi and shower head.
I hope that with my return to Dullstroom Inn in the near future, some improvement can be seen.
Up next is the trip to visit the world famous Jessica the Hippo
