Lucky POT HOLES

We've experienced lots of pot holes everyday while driving to and fro a destination..and we've always been cursing on the council or JKR for their irresponsibilities...that's Malaysian Potholes..but what I'm gonna share here with everyone is Lucky Potholes'..well the full name is called the Bourkes Lucky Pothole. It's part of the Blyde River Canyon in Graskop (Khraskop), Mpumalanga, South Africa in which I will be showing you soon in the next posting. Back to the potholes, it's name after a gold digger named Tom Burke who has correctly predicted that a large deposit of golds would be found in that area at that time..and the formation of the potholes was caused by swirling whirlpools which made the stones and sands to grind huge cylindrical potholes in the bedrock of the river. So ironic, it's unlike the potholes in Malaysia..lmao..

MAC MAC Falls

A not so interesting post and a warm-up for upcoming great pictures of Mpumalanga of South Africa..This is gonna be a posting on a waterfall with the name of 'MAC MAC'. According to a reliable source from the internet, the Mac2 Falls was named after one of the gold miner in that area. Its height is 65m ad made a National Monument..which is quite high above. Originally a single stream waterfall, the 2nd stream was actually created by a group of miners who blasted it with a dynamite to divert the water for their mining activities then.

Volcano, Caldera on IPoS 2007

This posting is to commemorate the 2nd anniversary of our IPoS Alumni from the year 2007 in the month of September..it's been a great year together and our network and friendship's are still very strong..Daisetsuzan National Park is one of our excursion trip for the IPoS module at that time. This national park is located at the mountaineous area at the Northern part of Hokkaido. By name it means the Great Snowy Mountain and it is the largest national park in Japan.In my posting, it will be separated into 3 groups which are the Autumm landscapes and volcano, the Caldera lake and the accomodation nearby which is the youth hostel and log cabin. Mind you that these photos were shot using my old cam DSC-H1..so the quality is a little different then..

Victoria & Alfred Waterfront @ Cape Town

V & A Waterfront, one of the most visited tourists destination in Capetown, South Africa. It is situated between the Table Mountain and the Robben Island..For those who do not know what is Robben Island, it was where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned. Boat trips from the waterfront to the island is possible. Set against a backdrop of sea and mountain views, it offers a variety of shopping and entertainment options to visitors, intermingled with office locations, hotels such as the historical Breakwater Lodge once a 19th century prison and luxury apartments in the marina residential (Wikipedia, 2009).

Well let's enjoy the scenery there...with a cup of flemish coffee and choco mousse.
