February 2009 ~ Travel convenience

The Guan Yin Statue is situated in Nanshan Culture Tourism District, Sanya, Hainan Island, China. The area of the cultural center was very huge and if I would say, the area is about 5 times the area of Kek Lok Si temple complex. You need the whole day to cover the whole complex. While it's very packed outside..but when you're inside, it's very spacious. Anyway, let's see the pics with caption for easy understanding.

THE TEMPLE OF GOLDEN GUAN YIN STATUE

The golden Guan Yin Statue...Inside of the temple it's of Tang Dynasty design with gold platings

AND HERE's THE GUAN YIN STATUE..it's the 4th tallest in the world with the height of 108m.

The statue has three aspects, one side faces inland and the other two face the South China Sea, to represent blessing and protection by Guan Yin of China and the whole world. One aspect depicts Guan Yin cradling a sutra in the left hand and gesturing the Vitarka Mudra with the right, the second with her palms crossed, holding a string of prayer beads, and the third holding a lotus. The mantra Om Mani Padme Hum is written in Tibetan script around each aspects' halo. (wikipedia 2009)

The best moment in China during the CNY was its fireworks..you can get it anywhere, anytime and it's cheap..50% cheaper than Malaysia. You can get whatever types of fireworks you want and lit it without any guilt. Nah..no police is gonna arrest you and ask some duit kopi from you.

Seriously..i dun wanna see the firework display in esplanade Penang or in KL anymore..they are just small fry..honestly. In China we bought it and we lit it and spectate it just about 10 meters away...the experience on the kaboom sounds is really cool and it's not just 5-10 mins..it's 30mins..Nuff said..the photos below prove it all.
